Discovered in the 15th century by the Spaniards and taken over in the 17th century by the Dutch, Curacao is little more than forty miles off the coast of Venezuela, and is a dazzling paradise that displays a mélange of heritage, multiculturalism and tourist delight.

With beaches located near top notch restaurants, intriguing museums and the world’s best snorkeling and diving spots, this means there’s never a dull moment and plenty to do on the island, but after dark is when Curacao offers an array of nightlife adventure. In certain beachfront locations and neighborhoods of Willemstad, the area is kept alive with a party-like atmosphere and an assortment of musical themes. In the renovated section of Pietermaai, restaurants, night clubs and trendy bars have transformed from a number of quaint colonial buildings.

Wet & Wild Beach Club

The name speaks for itself. You’ll find Wet & Wild Beach Club situated on Seaqarium Beach, the largest commercial beach located on Curacao. Surrounded by crystal blue water and soft powdery sand, this is not only the place that serves up banana boat rides during the day, but presents happy hour on Fridays between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m., where barbecue is free. The beach is adorned with many cabanas, so guests can relax and soak in the sun during the day and prepare for the wild nightlife that is sure to come later in the evening. The palm covered roof is home to a group of bartender extraordinaires that will mix up some of the most exotic and delectable Boat Drinks on the island, while partiers enjoy the DJ Boogie Beach Party on Sunday evenings.

Cabana Beach Bar

Cabana Beach is also located near Seaquarium Beach and serves as the beach club spot for the newly constructed Kontiki Beach Hotel. Cabana Beach offers an environment for just about every occasion, whether you’re looking for a tranquil day at the beach, sipping refreshing cocktails or in mood for a spectacular feast at their Java Buffet, followed by an evening live show or disco as dessert. With a laid back feel, high quality food and beverages, palapa-style cabanas and luxurious amenities, Cabana beach gives a trendy Miami Beach vibe. On Wednesdays, Junior Tecla and his band give a live performance that fills the tropical evening air with a sound of authentic reggae. On Fridays, the scene transforms back into the 80’s with Juni Juliet and his dazzling piano skills.

Mambo Beach Bar

Also located next to Wet & Wild Beach Bar, Mambo Beach Bar allows visitors to lounge on white cotton-covered chairs and couches that face the spectacularly cerulean ocean, while sampling the assortment of ethnic delicacies. The nights get even more supercharged as it transforms into one of the liveliest outdoor disco clubs on the island. Besides the spacious bar and weekly theme nights, every Tuesday night is movie night with happy hour drinks and free admission.

Grand Café De Heeren

Located near the Bloempot shopping center – where you’ll find everything from modern and vintage clothing to jewelry – is the historic country house known as Zuikertuintie, which was built in 1870; this is where you’ll find the Grand Café De Heeren. The establishment has a homely feel to it, with its elongated mahogany bar and adornment of authentic photographs of the past. The international cuisine and the wide choice of a la carte dishes is surprisingly exquisite. There’s a bar both indoor and outdoors, so when the place transforms into a lively party scene during the evening hours, especially on Thursdays and Fridays, folks can either relax and listen or dance to authentic salsa and meringue music either indoors or outdoors amidst the Caribbean ocean breeze.
